We'd like you to become familiar with the KU Student Code of Conduct and Student Living Guidelines before you arrive, so you're clear on the expectations of being a community member at KU Flagship Campus.

  • Withdrawing
    If you decide to leave the university while living in the residence halls, you need to withdraw from both your classes and housing before leaving campus. Contact the Office of the Registrar for instructions on withdrawing from classes. Contact your Resident Experience Manager for instructions on withdrawing from housing.

Work Orders

Stauffer Hall

To put in a work order stop by the Office of Student Living located in Stauffer 1101 and place any work orders you might need with our friendly staff. You can also call in your work order to (561) 681-7958.

Lakeside

To put in a work order stop by the front desk in the 1st floor lobby and place work order with the receptionist

Housekeeping

Keeping our environments safe and clean is a partnership between residents and staff. We provide daily housekeeping services to public areas like exterior courtyards. Housekeeping for resident rooms and entrance ways is not provided. Residents are responsible for removing their own trash and keeping their doorways and walkways clear of trash and personal items.

Quiet Hours

Quiet hours begin at 11pm on weekdays (Sun-Thurs) and 12 Midnight on weekends (Friday-Saturday)

Visitation

Dues to Covid-19 there will be no guest visitation or room to room visitation until further notice.

Closing Guidelines Spring 2024

Preparation is vital, and please review the information below regarding the Spring 2024 Residential Hall Closing Procedures.

Residents must check out with their RA 24 hours after their last exam.
  • Approved graduating seniors can remain in their room assignment until April 28th, 2024 until noon.
  • All residents are required to sign-up for a checkout appointment with their RA. Checkouts will be available between the hours of 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.
  • All residents are required to return all room access and student identification. Failure to do so will result in an improper checkout. $250.00 
Things to Do Before your Checkout Appointment
  • Remove all belongings and personal trash from the room and common area. Clean the room, sweep, mop, clean out dressers, drawers, closets, armoires, bathrooms, cabinets, etc.
  • Move all furniture back to its original location to avoid charges. (bed, dresser, couches, etc.)
  • Trash is to be taken to the dumpsters. $100.00 per bag or more if not removed by the occupant(s).
  • The common area(s), i.e., bathroom and living room, etc., all residents are responsible for their unit common area(s).
During Your Checkout Appointment
  • The RA will inspect the room and note any damages on the Room Condition Form (RCF).
  • The RA will collect your student identification card and any additional room access (if applicable).
Note: RA is the recorder only; the RA does not have authorization to confirm or deny any changes to your inspection
After Your Checkout
  • The common door card keys will be deactivated at your official checkout. Any personal belongings left in the room will be considered abandoned property and disposed of.
  • Failure to complete all the checkout procedures results in a $250.00 improper checkout fee or more. Failure to check out by the specified hall closing time may result in an additional fee.
Before the Last Suitemate Leaves, etc.
  • Remember to leave the AC thermostat on the "auto" and "cool" settings to 74 degrees.
Damage Billing
  • Residential students will incur additional charges for damages discovered during the Office of Student Living or Facilities Services inspection.
Book Your Travel Arrangements
  • Book your travel arrangements now. Flights get booked quickly and closer to the end of April/early May (graduating seniors).
Quiet Hours
  • Remember that Quiet Hours are in effect beginning April 21st, 2022, until Sunday, April 27th, 2022. Please be respectful and supportive of Quiet Hours as Finals are stressful. 11 p.m. (Sun-Thursday) and midnight on weekends (Friday & Saturday).
  • Disruptive residents are subject to immediate removal from student housing if quiet hours are not adhered to.
Athletics Approved to Stay Behind
  • Must have all their belongings packed and ready for move-out before leaving for the competition.
  • Must be prepared to be displayed for the University summer scheduled renovations and maintenance projects.
Fall 2024 Returning Residential Students Administrative Duties
Before leaving for the semester, visit your academic advisor, financial advisor, the business office, etc.
Summer 2024 School On-Campus Requirements
Must be enrolled for in-person classes to reside in on-campus housing. Summer school on-campus residents students are packaged for both summer sessions. Stauffer Hall is the residential community for summer school housing.
